Rebekah
Rebekah came in with 2 dresses. The first dress was from 1910. It was very degraded and turned out to be non salvageable. The second dress was the only dress she had left from her mother who had passed. She wanted to see if it was even possible to turn into something she could wear for her wedding. It was actually her mothers debutante dress from the 1970s. It needed a lot of repairs and restoration. I used the back of the dress for the front of the new dress. I took the sleeves off and cut out all the individual lace motifs and made custom sleeves. The dress needed extensive tailoring as well. When it was all finished she was amazed. She wore this on her wedding day with a veil borrowed from a friend. What a precious family memento.
